The screen filter is a precision device that directly intercepts impurities in water with a filter screen, removes suspended solids and particles in the water body, reduces turbidity, purifies water quality, and reduces system dirt, bacteria, algae, rust, etc., to purify water quality and protect the normal operation of other equipment in the system. How to choose the right type of screen filter?

First, the characteristics of the mesh filter:
During the backwashing process, water is continuously supplied. The entire backwashing is achieved by cleaning each point of the filter screen at the suction nozzle. During the backwashing process, the local pressure change between the suction nozzle and the fine filter screen is very small, and the functions of the collector and the hydraulic cylinder will not affect the normal water supply. Meanwhile, the water consumption during the backwashing process is very small. Take a filter with a flow rate of 300m ³ /h as an example: the backwash flow rate is 35-40m ³ /h, the backwash time is 7-15 seconds, and the backwash water volume is 80-160L.

Second, choosing a screen filter factors should be considered:
1. Filtration accuracy

The filtration accuracy determines the type of self-cleaning filter. The filter screen directly affects the filtration capacity and filtration accuracy of the filtration equipment. The precision range of COSCO self-cleaning filters is 5 to 3000 microns. The lower the precision, the better the water quality. Users can make their choices based on the actual situation on site.

2. Filtration water volume

The amount of water filtered determines the size of the equipment. The greater the water volume, the larger the equipment required.

3. System pressure

The equipment needs to withstand the pressure from the system operation during its operation. Users can make their choices based on their actual situations, and our company can customize according to users' demands.

4. Equipment materials

The cleaning parts of the equipment (including filters and brushes) are all made of stainless steel. The housing of the self-cleaning filter is made of carbon steel and stainless steel for users to choose from. If the corrosiveness of the filter solution is not strong, the material requirements for the filter should not be too high; otherwise, the cost will be very high. At this point, carbon steel can be chosen. However, in the papermaking industry, stainless steel is usually used due to the strong corrosiveness of filtration.

Three, the use of mesh filter precautions
1. When a certain amount of dirt accumulates on the filter screen, the pressure between the filter inlet and outlet will increase sharply. When the pressure drop exceeds 0.07MPa, timely flushing is required.

2. The direction of water inlet and outlet should be selected based on the filtration direction of the filter element and must not be reversed.

3. If damage to the filter element and sealing ring is found, replace them in time; otherwise, the water filtration effect will be lost.

4. When not in use in winter, the water should be drained to prevent freezing.

5. The screen filter can be used alone or in combination with other filters.

Four, the functional characteristics of the mesh filter:
1. High filtering accuracy: the filtering accuracy can reach 20 microns, the user can choose the appropriate filtering accuracy according to the need.
2. Large filtration area: The effective filtration area of a standard filter screen is 7 to 40 times the inlet area.

3. Uninterrupted water supply: The water consumption for cleaning is very low, not exceeding 3% of the total flow. The flushing time is 2 to 15 seconds, and the entire system is continuously supplied with water.

4. Multiple control modes: manual, differential pressure, time, and PLC program logic control.

5. Economical and simple installation: The connection method with the user's pipeline is flange connection, which is highly versatile, maintainable, and convenient for installation and disassembly.
